Welcome to Thatcher Farms. Thatcher Farms would like to welcome the newest baby lamb to the farm, William Allan Hamish Thatcher, a little brother for Sophie Grace.  Born April 2nd, 2009. As our family continues to expand in 2009, so does our flock of Rideau Arcott sheep.  This domestic breed of sheep are bred and developed right here in Canada.  Our flock now consists of 220 breeding ewes, lambing three times a year.  Throughout the winter months we have been altering the old “hog” barn into a more conducive sheep barn, adding new waterers, and feeders to allow for a better feeding system for the flock. 

Now entering its second year of business, Thatcher Farm’s Country Store is Open Year Round, offering a variety of Hormone and Additive Free Meats, Cheeses, and Omega 3 Eggs.  Come out for a drive and browse the shop and see what a working farm is all about.

The fall season is a beautiful time to visit Thatcher Farms.  The smell of the fresh air and the amazing colors of the changing leaves is the perfect atmosphere to create a new family tradition here at the farm.  This fall take some time to visit our farm and see how a working farm operates.  We are offering a variety of fall harvest decorations to get your home ready for the season.  We have golden straw bales, tall stalks of corn, beautiful orange pumpkins and a variety of fall mums available beginning the end of September.  

Now available in the Country Store…a variety of Homemade Meat Pies, Beef Pot Pie, Irish Lamb Pie, Shepard’s Pie, Tourtiere.  All of our pies are homemade using our farm fresh meats.  Easy and quick to bake!  Along with your meat pie, enjoy a variety of Sheep Cheeses and Goat Cheeses… a must have for fresh, garden salads and appetizers!!!

We also offer a selection of sweet, local Syrup Products and local honey.

On October 3rd, 2009  Enjoy a Tour of Homes and Farms in Eramosa Township.  This is a self- guided tour rain or shine from 9am to 4pm.  Enjoy the beautifully decorated homes, the gardens as well as the barns.  Call or visit Thatcher Farms for tickets
